Anne Smith, LMSW

Anne Smith is the Family Institute Executive Director. She has been with the Family Institute since the beginning of its development in 2002. Anne was initially the Senior Program Coordinator, where she coordinated the implementation of the Multifamily Psychoeducation Group Initiative. In 2006 she was promoted to the Executive Director and spearheaded the development of the Spectrum of Family Services Initiative and all it entailed. Presently, Anne trains mental health professionals across New York State on how to implement evidenced-based practices in family psychoeducation, more specifically, the Consumer Centered Family Consultation Model. She also facilitates a variety of training and informational seminars.
Anne received her master’s degree in social work from the University at Buffalo where her concentration was in mental health, substance abuse and family work. She has also completed the Elements of Health Care Leadership Certificate Program from Rochester Institute of Technology in 2009. Anne has experience serving children and adults with limited capacities and mental illnesses as well as assisting their families. Anne lives in the Rochester area with her husband Kevin.
